Getting There
Clark International Airport (CRK) is the closest airport to Angeles City. Balibago and Red Street are a 15–25 minute Grab or taxi ride from arrivals. Grab starts at ₱65 plus ₱15 a kilometre, so check the fare in the app before you confirm, and book inside the app rather than with drivers who approach you at the exit.
Most long-haul flights land at NAIA in Manila, 2½–3 hours south of Angeles by road. The Genesis P2P bus runs from NAIA Terminal 3 to Clark for ₱450 each way. There are also P2P runs from PITX (₱480) and from Trinoma and Cubao (₱350). From the Clark stop, take a Grab or taxi to your hotel. On the way back, leave generous time: Manila traffic is the one thing that ruins this trip.
Jeepneys run along MacArthur Highway and through Balibago from ₱14 a ride (₱17 on the newer modern units). Grab covers Angeles and the Clark Freeport and is the easy option late at night. Stay on Red Street itself and most of your night is on foot.
US passport holders get 30 days visa-free. Fill in the free eTravel form at etravel.gov.ph within 72 hours of your flight; sites that charge for it are not the government. Carry proof of an onward flight, and make sure your passport is valid for six months past your arrival date. Other passports: check your own rules before you book.

Where to Stay
Right on Red Street, or a few streets over? Staying on the strip means everything is a walk away and the noise runs late. A few streets back gets you quiet and usually a better room for the money, at the cost of a short ride.
