Makati and BGC Nightlife Guide 2026: P. Burgos, Poblacion and BGC Bars With a Map

Metro Manila’s nightlife is really three neighbourhoods a short Grab ride apart: P. Burgos Street in Makati, the old expat strip; Poblacion, the tangle of cocktail bars and clubs right behind it; and BGC (Bonifacio Global City) in Taguig, the polished side. This guide lists 32 bars and clubs across all three, each with its address, opening hours, a contact and a directions link, plus a map, prices, transport and the rules that catch visitors out. Checked September 2026.
Hours change often, especially in Poblacion, so check a venue’s Instagram or call before crossing town for it.
Which area is for you?
P. Burgos and Makati Avenue: sports bars, a 24-hour diner, the big EDM club, rooftop bars and one of Asia’s 50 Best Bars. The strip also has go-go bars (18+), which we don’t list.
Poblacion: the best small bars in the country, craft beer, late clubs and street tacos, all walkable. Busiest Thursday to Saturday.
BGC: hotel speakeasies, rooftops and The Palace club complex. Cleaner, safer to walk, dearer, and stricter on dress code and ID.

P. Burgos Street and Makati Avenue
P. Burgos runs off Makati Avenue on the edge of Poblacion. Everything below is within about ten minutes’ walk of everything else.

Problem Child (cocktail bar). Opened late 2025 and went straight to No. 44 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2026, the only Philippine bar in the top 50. DJs nightly, walk-ins welcome. Poblacion
The streets behind P. Burgos: Ebro, Fermina, Alfonso, Felipe, General Luna, Guerrero and Valdez. Small, loud and packed on weekends.

BGC (Bonifacio Global City)
BGC is 15 to 30 minutes from Poblacion by Grab depending on traffic. Two big names closed recently: Bank Bar (December 2025) and the Fort Strip clubs (January 2025). Xylo at The Palace is being replaced by a new concept.

The Palace (Revel, Clubhouse, Yes Please, Medusa) (club complex). BGC’s big-night-out complex: house and techno at Revel, an underground-style club, a cocktail bar and a supper club. What a night costs (September 2026)
Beer: San Miguel draft is ₱105 a mug and ₱160 a pint at Handlebar. Poblacion bars charge about ₱120 to ₱250 a beer.
Cocktails: about ₱350 to ₱600 in Poblacion, ₱500 to ₱900 at the award-winning bars, ₱450 to ₱600 in BGC. Rooftops: about ₱320 at Firefly, about ₱500 at Antidote.
Club entry: ₱300 to ₱1,000 on Friday and Saturday, usually consumable (you get it back as drinks). Apotheka has charged ₱500 with a cocktail.
A big night at The Palace in BGC: ₱1,500 to ₱5,000+ a head; tables start around ₱10,000.
Always ask the price before you order and check the bill before you pay.
Getting there and getting around
From NAIA airport: Grab costs about ₱300 to ₱550 to Makati and ₱350 to ₱600 to BGC. Allow 60 to 90 minutes at rush hour (weekdays 7 to 10am and 4 to 8pm). Book in the app at the official pick-up point; ignore touts in official-looking vests quoting ₱1,500 to ₱2,000.
MRT-3: Ayala and Buendia stations serve Makati. The last trains leave around 10:30pm on weekdays and 10pm at weekends, so plan to Grab home. Fares have been half price since March 2026.
BGC Bus: from the EDSA Ayala terminal next to MRT Ayala. The Night Route runs 10pm to 5am. It is cashless: tap a Beep card.
Between bars: P. Burgos and Poblacion are one walkable neighbourhood. A Grab within Makati is about ₱80 to ₱150.
Going on to Angeles City? Every way to get from Manila to Angeles and Clark.
Where to stay
Poblacion and P. Burgos if the night is the point and you want to walk home: I’M Hotel and City Garden Grand are on Makati Avenue, Z Hostel is the backpacker option. Makati hotels on Klook

Rules and safety
Smoking is banned in enclosed public places, bars included, except in designated smoking areas. Vaping indoors carries fines of ₱5,000 to ₱20,000.
Don’t drink on the street. Metro Manila police have enforced the public-drinking ban under the DILG’s Safer Cities programme since April 2026.
BGC clubs check physical ID at the door (no phone photos) and turn away slippers and men’s sleeveless tops.
After about 2am, phone snatching happens on the darker Poblacion side streets. Keep your phone in your pocket on the street and book your Grab from inside the bar.
Visitor reviews of P. Burgos in 2025 and 2026 mention pushy drink selling, hidden charges and child beggars who try to pick pockets.
