Type Of Massage

Pink Poppy Flowers

Traditional Filipino Massage (Hilot)

Deep pressure using palms, thumbs, and elbows to work muscle tension. Usually done with oil. The most common massage you'll find and typically the cheapest.

body-spa.png

Full Body Oil Massage

Standard relaxation massage with oil, on a table or mat. Swedish or aromatherapy style depending on the shop.

treatment.png

Thai Massage

Performed clothed on a mat, without oil. Combines acupressure with assisted stretching. More intense than oil massage — the therapist uses hands, elbows, knees, and feet, and moves your body through stretches. Not for everyone the first time.

Spa Packages

Larger spas offer combinations — massage plus scrub, sauna, or facial. Higher price, longer session, better facilities.

foot-massage.png

Foot Massage / Reflexology

Focused on the feet and lower legs. Usually done in a chair. The cheapest option and popular after a long day walking.

What to Know

⏱ Duration

Sessions are typically 60 or 90 minutes. Some shops offer 30-minute foot massages. Confirm the length when you book so there's no confusion at the end.

💵 Tipping

Tipping is customary and appreciated. Hand it directly to the therapist at the end.

💪 Communicating Pressure

Say something if the pressure is too much or too little. Therapists will adjust. Nobody expects you to suffer through it in silence.

🏠 Choosing a Shop

Look for posted prices, clean facilities, uniformed staff, and an open storefront you can see into. Established shops with regular customers are a safe bet. If something feels off, walk.

🕒 Hours

Most shops open midday and stay open late — many until midnight or later. A few open earlier.

💰 Prices

Small walk-in shops are the cheapest. Mid-range shops and spas charge more for better facilities and private rooms. Hotel spas charge the most. Prices are usually posted at the entrance — if they're not, ask before you sit down.

Walk-in vs. Booking.

Most shops on Red Street take walk-ins and you rarely wait long. Larger spas may need a booking on weekends. If you want a specific therapist or a private room, call ahead.
